Australian UC President Visits HZNU

On November 3, President Hager Saini, of University of Canberra (UC) visited Hangzhou Normal University (HZNU) and signed a cooperative agreement with HZNU. HZNU Du Wei President met with the guests, and heads of related HZNU departments, including Department of International Cooperation & Exchange, Postgraduate Office, School of Economics and Management and School of International Education, attended the meeting.

Du Wei extended his warm welcome to the delegation and said that UC is a traditionally friendly university and a close partner of HZNU and the joint master program of educational leadership has enjoyed a good reputation in Hangzhou and even outside Zhejiang province. Du Wei hoped that both sides can establish an all-round cooperative partnership and put forward some constructive proposals on the joint establishment of Confucius Institute, the joint training of e-commerce talents and the joint training and exchange programs for students. President Saini agreed with Du Wei and said that UC will adopt an open and sincere attitude to a higher level of cooperation between two schools to explore the possibility of developing characteristic cooperation.

After the meeting, the two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding and renewed the agreement for the joint program of Masters of Educational Leadership and Management. The delegation also visited the students’ E-commerce Pioneer Park of Alibaba Business School and the newly-built library.

It is learned that the University of Canberra, located in Canberra, the capital of, was founded in 1967 and is one of the top universities in. It is well known for its excellent teaching and outstanding faculties. Since 2001 when the joint master program for Educational Leadership, both universities have cultivated a large number of high-quality school principals and educational administrators with an international vision for schools and educational authorities at different levels in Zhejiang and made great contributions to Zhejiang’ educational reform and development. In 2015, the name of the joint program, approved by the Ministry of Education, was officially changed to "Master Program of Educational Leadership and Management".
