On the morning of November 7, Ambassador James Kimonyo of Rwanda to China visited our University. The delegation includes Diane Sayinzoga, Director General of the Export Department of Rwanda National Development Agency and Samuel Abikunda, Commercial Counsellor of Rwanda to China. Zhang Zhijun, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Hangzhou Normal University, met with the delegation. 

Zhang Zhijun introduced the history of our University and the achievements in discipline construction and talents cultivation in recent years. He said that the University attaches great importance to international education cooperation, especially that with the Rwandan government and universities. 

James Kimonyo expressed his gratitude to our University for the hospitality and appreciated the hard work of leaders and teachers at all levels in Zhejiang Province and our University to the students of Rwanda. He hoped that more Rwandan students would be sent to Hangzhou Normal University for exchange in the future to enhance the friendship between the two sides.

It is reported that the course of cross border e-commerce in Rwanda is an important part of the agreement between Alibaba group and Rwanda government to jointly build the world electronic trade platform (e-WTP), which is jointly organized by the Higher Education Committee of Rwanda government and Alibaba Business School of our University. During the four-year undergraduate study, Rwandan students will learn about the Internet, international trade and cross-border e-commerce, and experience the development of China's digital economy.

On the same day, James Kimonyo and his delegation visited Alibaba Business School and the School of International Education. They also had a meeting and discussion with Rwandan students at Hangzhou Normal University. Jame Kimonyo encouraged the students to integrate into China, learn Chinese culture, become a bridge for cultural exchanges between the two countries, master the cutting-edge knowledge of Internet and digital economy, and apply these experiences to the construction of Rwanda. The students at the meeting expressed that they would work hard to learn cultural knowledge, offer wisdom for national construction and development, and contribute to the friendship between China and Rowanda.
