On July 21st, HZNU held the plaque-unveiling ceremony for its new School of Engineering. The University leadership, led by President Shang Yongfeng, and government officials from relevant departments attended the ceremony. 

President Shang pointed out that the School of Engineering is established to better serve the local economic and social development, reflecting the enthusiasm and courage of HZNU to base itself in Hangzhou and serve Hangzhou. It will promote the interdisciplinary integration of the University, advance its core competitiveness and help develop it to be a "first-class" university.

It is reported that the School of Engineering would be developed through the strategic cooperation with first-rate research platforms within and outside China. With high standards and a high starting point in development, the new School will be a beneficial complement to HZNU's existing disciplines. And building upon three majors, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Industrial Design and Environment Engineering, following the national strategic objectives of “intelligent manufacturing and green development”, and highlighting "high quality, precision and specialty", it strives to be a prestigious engineering school with great strength, distinctive characteristics and the ability to intelligently manufacturing a future.
