In its efforts to achieve research excellence with pioneering discoveries and intellectual contributions that address the most compelling issues we face today , the University has established over 80 research centers, institutes and laboratories, where scholars with national and international fame have been invited to work together with the university’s own research teams on interdisciplinary challenges that cross traditional academic boundaries, from humanities, arts to sciences, engineering and medicine. 

In 2019, the university won support from China’s National Science Foundation for 55 projects with the fund amounting to over RMB 20 million yuan (approx. US$ 3.2 million), constituting 20% of its total research fund of the year.
