VIVES Students Visit HZNU

Recently, over 100 teachers and students from VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Belgium came to Hangzhou to get a close understanding of its humanities, geography, social landscape and business environment, and entered the campus of Hangzhou Normal University (HZNU) to participate in interactive courses and experience traditional culture such as martial arts and calligraphy.

VIVES, one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Flanders, organizes a yearly trip for bachelor students from a wide range of specialties. The primary goal of the trip is to introduce the students to its partner universities in China and help them decide whether to go on an exchange. This trip also aims to introduce China to the students and broaden their horizons.

Located in West Flanders, Belgium, VIVES University of Applied Sciences signed a memorandum of understanding with HZNU in 2014. Over the years, the two universities have strengthened international exchanges and cooperation through online courses and exchanges across borders.

"I had never been to China before and it was a great experience. I think the most important thing that I learnt from the experience is to keep friendly relationships and build connections." Emma Devos, a student of VIVES said after attending the seminar on entrepreneurship organized by HZNU.
