On June 19th, the 2024 commencement ceremony was held in the gymnasium of Hangzhou Normal University. This ceremony marks graduation of 5,076 undergraduate students, 1,905 postgraduate students and 71 international students.

The ceremony, attended by the university leadership, all the graduating students and representatives of their famlily members, was also broadcast live and over 600,000 viewers tuned in online.

President Shang Yongfeng delivered a speech titled "Embark on a New Journey of Dreams ". He encouraged all the graduating students to maintain a sense of urgency, mission, and responsibility and to embrace new challenges with courage and perseverance. He also emphasized the importance of transforming knowledge into competence, upholding truth and principles, and integrating personal ideals with national responsibilities to contribute to the development of the country.
