On the morning of August 28, a delegation from the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, led by Premier Lubabalo Mabuyane, visited our university, engaging in discussions on deepening education cooperation and signed a cooperation agreement.
Wang Jian, on behalf of Yuhang District Government, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and offered congratulations on the signing of the agreement. He highlighted that the signing of the cooperation agreement signifies a new phase in the exchange between Sarah Baartman City in Easter Cape Province, Hangzhou Normal University, and the YuHang District People's Government. And all three parties are keen to seize this opportunity to advance cooperation.
Vice President Hu Hua of HZNU welcomed the delegation. He suggested that the university has always adhered to an open educational approach, placing great importance on international exchanges and cooperation and hoped that this occasion would serve as a springboard for enhanced dialogue and cooperation with the Eastern Cape and Sarah Baartman City in areas of talent development and cultural exchange, deepening practical collaboration, and actively promoting cultural understanding between China and Africa.
Mr. Deon De Vos, mayor of Sarah Baartman expressed his gratitude to Governor Oscar Mabuyane and the relevant departments of Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou City for the strong support. He also thanked the Yuhang District and Hangzhou Normal University for the support in providing advanced studies in China for South African young students. He pointed out that the city of Sarah Baartman values the cooperation and exchange with Yuhang District and Hangzhou Normal University, and is dedicated to promoting the growth and development of South African young students. The signing of the agreement will build a bridge for communication between the people of both countries, further enhancing cultural exchanges between the two peoples.
