
On May 17, the Third International Conference on Early Childhood Development and Childcare was held at the Cangqian Campus of Hangzhou Normal University, bringing together experts from China, the UK, France, Canada, Japan, and beyond. Centered on the theme “Improving Childcare Quality and Promoting Early Childhood Development,” the conference offered a global platform for dialogue on early childhood care, policy innovation, and interdisciplinary research.
The event marked the official launch of the Research Center for Early Childhood Development and Childcare, a new platform integrating scientific research, policy consultation, talent development, and social services. University leaders emphasized the center’s role in supporting national strategies and addressing public needs around inclusive, high-quality childcare.
Research Center Inaugurated
Renowned scholars and practitioners delivered keynote speeches on topics ranging from maternal care and brain development to infant learning and policy responses to low fertility.
Global Insights Shared
Eight roundtable sessions explored key themes such as brain development, policy research, talent training, and local best practices. An innovation exhibition showcased new technologies and services from nearly 30 participating enterprises.
Collaborative Momentum
The university also signed cooperative agreements with leading institutions, launched the English journal Future Brain Science and Child Development, and appointed academic and industry leaders to the new research center.
