When spring fills the campus, the opening ceremony of the 25th Sports Culture Festival of Hangzhou Normal University and the 2026 Hangzhou Normal University Campus Half Marathon kicked off with great enthusiasm at the Cangqian Campus on April 11. Over four thousand faculty members, students, and alumni set off side by side, measuring the campus with their footsteps, practicing the concept of health through running.
The event featured two categories: a half marathon and a 7-kilometer fun run. When the starting gun fired, the runners surged forward like a tidal wave. Starting from the stadium, the runners passed by the Asian Games Exhibition Hall and the Asian Games Women's Volleyball Final Venue, gaining insights into the Asian Games spirit. They traversed the campus's natural scenery and cultural landmarks, like Gallery Bridge and Alumni Forest.
On the track, the runners gave their all to challenge their limits, while enjoying the journey in groups. Faculty members, students, and alumni ran together, with every step representing perseverance and every segment offering a picturesque view. Running is not just about speed. It is also about practicing a healthy lifestyle. The university has held the Sports Culture Festival for 25 consecutive years, organizing a series of sports activities including basketball, volleyball, football, badminton, table tennis, pickleball, and dance exercises. These initiatives encourage faculty members and students to step out of the classrooms and onto the sports fields, strengthening their bodies, forging their willpower, and fostering a sense of unity through exercise, making sports a new trend on campus.
