Recently, the 6th International Culture Festival of Hangzhou Normal University was held at the Cangqian Campus. Over 500 Chinese and foreign faculty members, students, and friends gathered together for this cross-border cultural feast.
To the sound of stirring music, representatives from 26 countries marched in one after another, flags held high, their steps firm and powerful, showcasing the spirit of youth. The atmosphere was electric as international students from over 70 countries gathered to compose a chapter of dreams from across the globe.
Five international student representatives shared their China stories about academic excellence, research exploration, social practice, volunteer service, and innovation & entrepreneurship.
On stage, multicultural performances shone brilliantly. International students from 13 countries took turns performing skits, traditional songs, and dances from their respective countries, weaving a colorful tapestry of civilizations.
Students from partner universities also brought heartfelt performances—Zhejiang Chinese Medical University offered traditional Chinese medicine massages and pulse diagnosis, while International Innovation Institute of Beihang University displayed specialty foods from different countries. The blending of diverse cultures fully demonstrated the vitality and flair of international youth.
The garden fair transformed into a bustling Global Village, with over 30 country-themed booths lined up. European elegance, Southeast Asian aromas, and African passion converged here. Yemeni face painting, Central Asian pilaf, Thai milk tea, Vietnamese spring rolls, and other specialty foods were on full display. Chinese and foreign students stopped to check in, interact, and share food—experiencing cultural charm, deepening friendships, and immersing themselves in the unique appeal of mutual learning among civilizations.
As a key event of the university's International Cultural Exchange Month, this year's International Culture Festival built bridges for mutual learning through diverse stages, deepened international understanding through immersive experiences, and enhanced the global competence of Chinese and foreign faculty and students, injecting new momentum into HZNU's mission to become a high-level university with international influence. Looking ahead, Hangzhou Normal University will continue to deepen international exchanges, ensuring that the flowers of multiculturalism bloom ever brightly on campus!
